Inspiring Teachers is a community of educators networking for mutual growth and support in the teaching profession. Internet4Classrooms was developed in 1997 to extend assistance to fellow teachers. This site is a free web portal designed to assist anyone who wants to find high-quality, free internet resources to use in classroom instruction, developing project ideas, reinforcing specific subject matter areas both in the class and at home and even for online technology tutorials. The portal is used by teachers, parents and students of all ages on six of the seven continents (there are not many classrooms in Antarctica) and is available to anyone with an internet connection.

Scholastic New Teachers is a survival guide for new teachers filled with resources, tools, and tips. This site give you the opportunity to filter by grade, offers quick tips, features videos, and offers newsletters. 

Share My Lesson is a place where educators can come together to create and share their very best teaching resources. Developed by teachers for teachers, this free platform gives access to high-quality teaching resources and provides an online community where teachers can collaborate with, encourage and inspire each other.

Share My Lesson has a significant resource bank for Common Core State Standards, covering all aspects of the standards, from advice and guides to help with dedicated resources that support the standards.

On as many days as possible, we have selected an event from our monthly event calendars to be the focus of the writing prompt. These writing prompts can be used in a number of ways:
  • Daily warm-up activity
  • Practice in prompt writing for state assessments
  • Daily/weekly writing prompt
  • "Anytime" activity
  • Student work center
  • "When You're Done" activity
  • Substitute teacher activity

One added advantage to Daily Writing Prompt" is that they can easily be displayed through an LCD projector in your classroom. This eliminates time you would spend at the copy machine. All prompts can easily be printed as well. Be sure to look over all the different options provided.
