improving the teaching and learning of writing in Michigan’s schools and
local communities. CMU faculty and local teachers involved in the CRWP
will focus outreach activities in mid- and northern Michigan that support
the teaching and learning of writing.
Writing Project (SBWP) has worked to promote literacy throughout the Mid-Michigan area. Our site fulfills the philosophy of the National Writing Project, supporting best practices with a “teachers teaching teachers” model.
SBWP offers professional development where teachers have the opportunity to become versed in best practice, grow as writers themselves, and develop the skills they need to become teacher leaders in their own districts. The Writing Project provides outreach to area schools, offers a variety of best practice workshops, sponsors writing marathons, publishes teacher and student writing anthologies, and consults with area districts to guide teacher professional development. The SBWP is committed to promoting excellence in the teaching and practice of writing.
Daily-Writing Prompt This site will offer students and teachers alike resources to assist them in their daily writing practice. Establishing a program that helps students to love writing, while producing quality
content is not easy. A daily writing prompt? has been the first step toward making it happen in some teacher™s classrooms and I hope this site inspires you as well.
